Getting To & From Chimanimani

GETTING HERE

Getting to Chimanimani is easier than you might think. If you would like to visit Chimanimani and don't know how to get here, we can organize transport to and from Chimanimani.

Transport Options:

BY CAR

Of course you could hire a car in Harare and drive to Chimanimani if you wish. Please take into account that the roads are often dirt and the potholes are frequent and often deep. A mini 4x4 might get the best option and will enable you to get to those out of the way places. You won't need 4wd experience, but the ground clearance on these vehicles is better than the small city cars.

BY BUS FROM HARARE

Buses from Harare to Chimanimani direct are available at this point, however please check with me before assuming that would be possible.

Timetables and availability changes, so we need to check first before we book you on to the bus.

BY BUS FROM MUTARE

Buses come from Harare to Mutare and from there we can organize a bus or car to drive you to Chimanimani Village.

These buses run a more regular timetable so this is often the best option.

Accommodation in Chimanimani

Chimanimani has a few accommodation options for your stay.

From camping to private rooms, we can help you to organize your accommodation.

NB: Chimanimani has limited accommodation so please ensure you book before you come.

Prices range starting from $5 per night for camping, $10/night for a dorm bed going up to $40-$50 per night for a private ensuite room or BnB Accommodation. Let me know what your preference is and I can book accommodation for you.

We can also organize a home stay with a local family if you would like.

NB: This will be a REAL homestay in typical Zimbabwean style, so if you would like a few comforts such as an inflatable matress or your own bedding, please feel free to bring your own.
